Shigaku Emotes: Emote Wheel Usage Guide & Known Emotes
Press K to open Shigaku's emote wheel, navigate to duo, and high five a teammate. Covers the emotes observed in gameplay — unlock conditions aren't documented.
In Shigaku, you open the emote wheel by pressing K during play, navigate around the wheel, and select the entry you want. The entries shown being picked from the wheel in gameplay footage are duo and high five — a two-player interaction where choosing duo with a partner plays a high five, and the player on the receiving end noted that it doesn't clap. Only those two slots are shown being selected from the wheel in captured play, so treat the rest of the wheel, and any unlock conditions, as something to confirm in-game.
How to open the emote wheel
The routine shown in captured gameplay breaks down into three moves:
Roadmap
- 1
Press K
Bring up the emote wheel
- Press the K key during play and the wheel comes up over the game
- 2
Navigate the wheel
Find the entry you want
- Move through the wheel until the entry you want is highlighted
- 3
Select the entry
Start the emote
- Pick the entry — for a high five, select duo
The K keybind comes from gameplay observation rather than official documentation, so recheck it after any UI update.

Tips
duo
Reached from the wheel after pressing K and performed together with another player. One streamer asking his teammate for the interaction describes it as an automatic K-then-duo route to the high five.
high five
Performed by choosing duo from the wheel with a partner. It plays without a clap sound — as the player receiving it put it, "Unfortunately, it don't clap, but it's okay."
Both emotes are used as a two-player interaction: request it, have your partner open the wheel with K and pick duo, then complete the high five together. No unlock steps or usage restrictions for either emote appear in the captured gameplay, so if a slot on your wheel behaves differently, check it directly in-game after updates.
